How to Choose the Right Apple iPad

Instructions

    • 1

The first thing you need to do to choose the right Apple iPad is determine the amount of storage space you will need. Do you plan to keep a lot of pictures; you could use your iPad as a digital picture frame. Do you plan to keep files stored on your portable device; you can save spread sheets of your articles or blog writings? Do you want to have several applications like games and organization apps on your iPad? What about eBooks; you can use the iPad as an eReader for online books. If you plan to add a lot of items to your iPad its better to have more space. Even if you don't like to play games on your iPhone or iPod you may find that the iPad gaming experience is much better because of the larger screen and faster processor so when you are making your decision on size leave a little room for the possibility of needing the space.

    • 2

Next you should take into consideration where you plan to use your iPad. If you plan to only use your iPad at home or near a Wi-Fi connection you can choose the basic model that comes with the built in Wi-Fi connection. However, if you plan to take your portable iPad with you to area's that do not offer Wi-Fi connections you will need to purchase an iPad with the built in 3G capabilities. This will allow you to pay a small fee and have access to the internet for downloading apps or surfing the web anywhere you have 3G coverage. The upgraded iPad with the added 3G capability will only add about $130 to the total cost of the iPad so if there is a possibility that you will want to use the iPad away from a Wi-Fi connection its best to go ahead and get it. You can always add the service at a later time but if you don't get it you will have to either do without or purchase a new iPad when you decide you want it.

    • 3

Now you need to decide on a price for your new iPad. This is kind of predetermined by the features you selected in steps one and two but as with many people price does play an important part of the decision making process.

      Wi-Fi only 16GB = $499
      Wi-Fi only 32GB = $599
      Wi-Fi only 64GB = $699

      Wi-Fi and 3G 16GB = $629
      Wi-Fi and 3G 32GB = $729
      Wi-Fi and 3G 64GB = $829

If you noticed there price jumps a hundred dollars each time the storage size doubles. When you think about it an extra hundred dollars for double storage is not too bad really, but make sure you need the space since 16GB is a lot of room.

Also jumping from the Wi-Fi only device to the Wi-Fi with 3G is a price increase of $129. When you take into consideration not getting the 3G capable device could cost you $629 if you had to purchase the complete device later just to use the feature it's again pretty easy to justify getting the upgraded iPad instead of the basic.

Now put the three things together to make sure you are getting the right Apple iPad for you!

How to Prevent Computer Radiation

Instructions

    • 1
Foods high in Vitamin A and C can reduce computer radiation

The first step in preventing and reducing computer radiation is to have a high intake in food rich in Vitamin A and C. These includes foods such as apples, tomatoes, carrots, and cherries. These vitamins can help reduce the harmful effects of computer radiation.

    • 2
Computer ventilaters and coolers/fans can reduce radiation

It is known that computer screens emit certain types of carcinogenic substances that is extremely harmful to your health. A way to reduce these is by putting your computer near a ventilated cooler.

    • 3

Since computer radiation is emitted in all directions, computer placement is very important to reducing radiation. Make sure that the back of your computer screen is overlooking an area where people pass by. The second strongest radiation is behind your computer screen. You should have an ideal eye distance of about 80cm away from the screen to reduce computer radiation.

    • 4
Older modeled computers emit more radiation than newly developed ones

If you can, purchase a new model computer. Most older modeled computers tend to release more radiation than the new ones. Old computers can release up to twice the amount of radiation compared to that of a new modeled and developed computer.

    • 5
Radiation filter plates can also reduce radiation greatly

One easy measure to reduce and prevent harmful computer radiation is by attaching a radiation filter plate in front of your computer screen. Make sure you do not have any metal substances near your computer, as these can reflect off electromagnetic radiation that can be harmful to your health.

    • 6

Since computer radiation can also affect and harm your skin, you can apply a layer of facial mask to prevent yourself from the rays. Once done using a computer, make sure to thoroughly wash your wash to brush off any electromagnetic particles that might have attached to the outer surface of your face and skin.

    • 7
Cactus and other plants help absorb harmful computer radiation

Lastly, you can put some radiation absorbing plants near your computer to prevent computer radiation. For example, putting several potted cactus can help absorb some of the harmful radiation.

How to Choose the Right Processor Speed for a Computer

Instructions

    • 1

Think about what you will be doing with your computer for the next 3 years. That is about the timeframe for machines these days.

    • 2

If you are just using your machine for casual use, such as word processing, web browsing and the occasional card game, consider an Intel Pentium Dual Core or AMD Sempron processor. If you prefer Macintosh machines, look into an Intel Core 2 Duo.

    • 3

If you are a middle of the road user, who likes all of the above things but also the occasional heavier game and multimedia use (i.e. pictures and mp3s), an Intel Quad Core would be better. The Quad Core is also great for heavy online multimedia games and heavier multimedia use.

    • 4

If Macintoshes are your taste and you are a heavier user, the Intel Dual Quad Core processors can take care of all your needs.

    • 5

If your budget allows it, try and spend as much as you can on the fastest processor. This is because technology evolves at a very fast pace and your machine will be able to keep up after a few years.

How to Delete Cookies & Clean Your Computer

One of the easiest things to do is delete cookies. And what cookies are, they're little pieces of information that are stored in your computer so when you go to a website, that website knows that you've visited it before, and it like helps keep track of you as an individual, so they can tailor ads or you know specific sayings you set up on your computer, which is great if they're sites that you go to a lot, but if you just go to a site once, it'll store that information and over a couple years or even over six months of not deleting cookies, you'll build up a lot of information and that starts to hog space on your computer. And one of the big things with your computer is if you have a hard drive, as it starts to fill up, your computer takes longer to find things, so that slows down your computer. So to delete cookies is fairly easy. If you're running Internet Explorer, you just go up to tools, and then go to Internet Options, and then right on the front page there's a button that says delete cookies. And you'll just go over here, delete cookies, and it says delete all cookies in a temporary internet folder, and you hit okay. And then that's it for the cookies part of it The next thing you want to do is clean up, as your computer starts to, over time, it'll in other areas, start accumulating data that you don't need anymore. So you'll want to go to the - hit the start button and go to my all programs, and then go to accessories, and then you're going to look at system tools, and you'll see something that says disk cleanup. You'll want to click on that, and sometimes it'll take a couple minutes as it's scanning your hard drive for information. Depending on how full your hard drive, it could take fifteen minutes or longer. Since I don't really have a lot on here, it did it fairly quick. Now that it's showing you that I've got this much in temporary internet files and how much is in my recycle bin. And it's basically letting you know these are files that you can get rid of to clean up your computer, and then you just hit okay, and it'll ask you are you sure you want to do this and you say yes. And then it's going to go through and delete all those files and then that'll help clean up some of the stuff that you don't need anymore. And then another thing to do is just go through it yourself and look through the computer and find files or folders or things you've downloaded that you might not need anymore and delete those. And if you do enough of that, you should start to notice you should start to notice an increase in performance on your computer. And another great thing to do is just add more RAM 'cause that could speed up your computer as well. And that's how to delete cookies and clean up your computer.
